I just passed my Technician class amateur radio exam. I am now a Ham. Again. Back in 1992 I got a technician license but I let the license lapse. Didn’t spend much time in the hobby. Now, traveling and camping in the deserts of Nevada, I wanted to get my license again to have a dependable way of communicating.
While cell service may be non-existent in many areas, there is almost always a way to get a signal out with ham radio. And a ham license is always a good selling point when you’re trying to get something electronic related published. Oh, by the way — perfect score. 🙂
