“When I was a kid my parents moved a lot, but I always found them.” Rodney Dangerfield
Settling into my new Las Vegas home finds me living out of boxes but I continue to write and edit for my Vancouver employer and I keep seeking other part-time work.
I need to be about my craft. Writing appeals, it organizes, it clarifies my thoughts. Writing a story is like putting together a jigsaw puzzle without a photograph on the box top. At the start, in my mind’s eye, I have only a hazy vision of something incomplete. Only by working at the puzzle, with interviews and research forming the pieces, can I bring the final image into focus. And until that vision is brought into reality, until that story is told, well, I can’t rest. Enough muttering.
OneSpace (external link) offers opportunities for freelancers if you can pass their qualification tests. I haven’t tested well; we lack agreement on punctuating. Still, they offer work and you should investigate the site as another freelance resource. One odd thing: they want access to your PayPal account before you test but my research indicates that this a legitimate request, no fraud involved.
